Base

The Base series covers Wizards of the Coast’s first English sets, from Base Set in January 1999 to Team Rocket in April 2000. It also spans Jungle, Fossil, Base Set 2 and Wizards Black Star Promos; early prints carry a 1st Edition stamp or lack the drop shadow, and Team Rocket brought Dark Pokémon and the first secret rare, Dark Raichu. The 1st Edition Base Set Charizard is the headline chase card, and grading populations set its price.
