VS

The VS series is Pokémon Card★VS, a Japanese release from July 2001 built around the Gym Leaders, Elite Four and Champion of Johto and Kanto. It was the first Japanese set with 1st Edition prints and secret cards, introduced Technical Machine cards and came in 30-card packs. With no English counterpart, its 1st Edition holos such as Karen’s Umbreon are Japan-only chase cards, and grading populations decide their value.
