Magic: The Gathering’s 1997 releases include Visions, Fifth Edition, Weatherlight, Tempest and Portal, a simplified set aimed at new players. Tempest opened its own block and introduced Slivers, while its Intuition and Earthcraft and Weatherlight’s Null Rod are Reserved List chase cards. Visions’ Vampiric Tutor, a Commander staple restricted in Vintage, has been reprinted several times since.
